“Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee:

for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge:

thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried:

the Lord do so to me, and more also, if aught but death part thee and me.”

Ruth 1:16

There were so many beautiful and heartfelt moments during this wedding. So many that I almost considered splitting Abby and TJ's wedding up into three blog posts. However, I didn't feel like the story was told the way I wanted when it was chopped up like that.

One of the  most emotional and beautiful parts of Abby and TJ's wedding day was their prayer before the ceremony. TJ blindfolded himself with a Star Trek tie so that he wouldn't see his gorgeous bride before she walked down the aisle. They embraced, exchanged tokens of love, and whispered sweetly to each other before saying a simple and heartfelt prayer for their future lives together. After the prayer, TJ surprised Abby with a song that he wrote for her. He sang and played the ukulele while his bride looked up at him with utter adoration. Needless to say, I had a difficult time choking back the tears during their sweet and loving moments.

It was extremely important to Abby and TJ that their faith be the leading theme of their wedding day. Their faith was integrated into every detail, big and small. It was integrated with every prayer, with the decor that told stories of Abby and TJ's international missionary work, with their ceremonial foot washing, and all of the expressions of love between Abby, TJ , their families, and friends.

Abby and TJ's wedding day started with a continuous misting rain, bringing everyone together in the effort of wiping down the seats to dry them. Just before the ceremony, the rain cleared out, leading to a partly cloudy sky and moments of pure golden sunlight during the ceremony. In other words, it was perfect.

I was at the tail-end of a nasty flu for this wedding, so I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my dear friends Ron, Rowan, and Rachel for all of your help in making sure that Abby and TJ had a wonderful wedding photography experience in spite of my illness. Y'all are the BEST and I couldn't have done it without you!
